Masterminding Your Way To Success!

I know I wrote the book called Secrets Of Self-Made Millionaires but really there’s no such thing as a “Self-Made” millionaire. You see, I’m actually a “TEAM-Made” millionaire! And it’s true. I couldn’t have got to where I am today if not fo the people I have around me.

We all have different strengths and weaknesses and instead of wanting to become a hero and tackle everything yourself, isn’t it so much smarter to ally yourself with partners who can help you where you are weakest at?

For example, a lot of people often ask me how do I manage to find the time to run and manage 3 full-time businesses which generate over $20 million in revenue yearly?

How Do You See Yourself? Another Elephant Metaphor

I am glad alot of people are enjoying the powerful life metaphor of the elephant trapped by its own beliefs. I would like to share with you another elephant metaphor, except this is about a prehistoric elephant known as a Mammoth.

One of my favorite movies is ICE AGE and ICE AGE 2. In this second installment, there was this female mammoth (again a very powerful creature) named Ally who was abandoned by her herd when she was young. She was raised by a family of possums (rodent like creatures) who taught her that she was a possum. Since she had never met any other mammoth before and the only thing around her were possums, she began to create an identity for herself that she was a possum. Becauae she believed she was a possum, she acted exactly like one. When birds of prey flew near, she would run and hide and even play dead.

A Lesson from Earth’s Most Powerful Mammal

A couple of months ago I went to Thailand with my family (a beautiful country I visit every year) and brought my kids to watch and ride on the elephants there. Watching these world’s largest mammals are really fascinating. Elephants are such gentle creatures and yet so powerful and strong. A large male elephant has the strength to pull a tree down and is able to lift a log with his trunk.

One thing that amazed me is that there are no elephant cages. You have cages for lions, bears and tigers but never a cage for the elephant. Why is this so? How do they prevent this powerful creature (stronger than the tiger + lion + bear added together) from escaping and running away. All they do is to tie a rope (or a single chain) to the elephants leg and secure it to a stake in the ground. Once his leg is secured, he will not run away. Now, do you think the elephant actually has the potential to break the chain or rope if he wanted to? Of course! He can pull down an entire tree!

But why won’t he break the weak rope that holds secures his leg?

Just A Simple Thank You…

It’s a start of a new school year for many students but also how did some of them do for the previous years exams? Especially for the O and N levels?

Well I sometimes receive emails from students and reading the messages make me remember why I’m doing what I’m doing now. And it is certainly all worth the effort.

Wishing Everyone a Successful & Prosperous 2007

As my first BLOG posting of the year, I would like to wish all my past participants, supporters and readers of this BLOG a very happy and successful new year. Thank you so much for constantly visiting this BLOG and posting all the wonderful comments and emails over the last 6 months. I will do my very best to continue to make this BLOG inspiring, educational and enriching in the coming year.

The last two months have been extremely intense, exhausting and yet extremely fulfilling. I started the first of my holidays camps for teens (I Am Gifted, So Are You!) and kids (Superkids) in early Novemeber and ended the year training 1,450 students over 14 camps across Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. It felt great to see so many young children and teens developing the confidence, self-belief and motivation to create a new start in their lives. The toughest part of my year-end training tour was during the last week, where I came down with really bad flu in Jakarta. I guess all the non-stop speaking, continuous late nights, bottles of coke and fried food really started taking its toll. During the last two camps, I was battling a high fever, blocked ears and a running/bleeding nose while giving my usual high energy training sessions. Never the less I pulled through and used the much needed Christmas holidays to sleep it off and recover! Anyway, I am glad to say I am STILL ALIVE and ready to conquer 2007!

I would like to share some interesting insights in my life over the past two months….
