Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group is On the Hunt for Top Trainers

Some of you may have read my ad a couple of days ago in the Straits Times. Yes, I am on the lookout for the most dynamic, passionate and highly skilled trainers to run my range of corporate, kids and NLP programs in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

It is really not easy to find trainers that can deliver the same quality of training and standards that my company has built up a reputation for. It takes roughly 12 months for me to train up a new trainer, with an attrition rate of 90%.

That’s right! Less than 10% ever make it on stage as an AKLTG Trainer. Many people have asked me why I have not expanded by programs even more aggressively over the last four years. The reason is because for the nature of training which I provide (extremely powerful and trasnformational), you cannot just hire people and get them to start training right away. It is not like hiring people to sell curry puffs. It takes months and even years of intense modeling and learning before they can do what I do. And unless they can replicate the results that I can produce in people, they will not make it as an AKLTG trainer. I have been blessed so far with 10 other super trainers but am on the lookout to headhunt more of the best. If you know anyone who has what it takes, get them to send their resumes to Adam Khoo Learning Technologies Group (10 Hoe Chiang Road. #01-01 Keppel Towers. Singapore 089315). Or send an email to adamk@akltg.com

My 2nd Interview On My Paper

Hello people! Have a look (you may have to squint a little):

If I Had Gone to Raffles Institution, Would I Be a Millionaire Today?

Hi Guys

Recently, someone sent me an email saying that his life was full of problems. Everytime he solved a problem, a new one would emerge. ‘Why can’t goals be easy to achieve?’ ‘Why can’t things go exatcly the way I planned?’ ‘ Why is it that everytime I want to acheieve something, something will always go wrong?

Why Must Life be Filled with Adversities? He then went on to complain that he was not as lucky as other people around him. ‘Adam, you are so lucky that everything is going your way, you don’t seem to have any problems!’

Well, if you feel the way this guy does. Then I have some rather shocking news for you! Everybody experiences problems and adversities EVERYDAY of their life! So, you are not alone. In fact, if you think that you have got problems, there are many people out there who have got even bigger problems and they would glady give an arm and a leg to have your petty problems. Think of the poor maid who was featured on the Straits Times who lost her entire family (her children, husband and parents included) during the Indonesian earthquake. Kind of puts our life into perspective huh?

Many people think that with wealth and success, problems all go away, and life is carefree. Well, I have got more news. The more successful you are, the bigger your problems! Many people may not know this, but I got bigger problems that most people ever think! In fact, I believe that if I would let anyone live my life for a week, they would probaly collapse form the sheer extreme stress and demands! Imagine, having filling the expectation to inspire and change the lives of over 4,300 people over 43 audiences from 4 countries in the last 30 days. Memorizing 150 hours of speeches and at the same having to worry about over $400,000 of fixed costs and about 70 staff at the same time, all having their own set of problems that I need to solve for them. Not to mention, answering 30+ emails a day to people with probems ranging from relationship breakdowns to business problems. I dealt with this in the last month alone.

But…Hey! I am not complaining. I believe that Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and George Bush have got problems 100x worse that mine every single day. This is why I believe that before life would allow anyone to become more sucessful, you must first prove that you can handle problems at your current level first. If not, life will not allow you to advance to the next stage! So, everyone has problems. The more successful you are, the bigger they are! The only people without any problems are those lying in the graveyard!

Some people ask me why life must be full of adversities. Why can’t things come easily? Well, think abut it this way. Imagine if you watched a movie like Star Wars or the Lord of the Rings and in the entire 3 hour movie, there were no bad guys, no problems and no sad or frightening moments. Would you enjoy the show? No! You would probaly be bored to death and fall asleep! Imagine if Frodo took a beautiful stroll through middle earth with all the fairies smiling along the way and the birds singing. I doubt he would have felt the joy and pride of completing his journey! So, you see, if goals were not tough to achieve with problems along the way, it would not feel good achieving it in the first place. The only reason why we feel good and proud about getting someting is precisely because achieving it took so much sweat and tears!

I have another theory. I believe that adversity and setbacks are there to teach us certain lessons that we need to learn in order to be able to have the wisdom to move to the next level of success! Also, the greatest opportunities always come disguised as problems! They never seem like opportunities at all. When people complain that they have no opportunities in life, it is becasue they never saw the opportunity that lay disguised within their problems and so they chose instead to run away and hide from their problems, thereby never finding out the truth. In other words, everything bad happens for a specific reason. It is there to teach us lessons, mould our character and give us an opportunity.

Let me give you an example for my life. When I was in Primary school, I went through lots of problems. I was lazy, unmotivated and hated to study. I had low self esteem and mixed around with the wrong group of friends. My parent’s divorce also affected my lack of desire to do well. As a result, I ended up in lots of trouble and was expelled from St. Stephens School when I was in primary 3 (aged 9). When I got into Ngee Ann Primary after half a year of missing school, I could not catch up and as a result, did badly for my PSLE and was rejected from all 6 secomday schools of my choice. Instead, I was posted to a neighbourhood school called Ping Yi that was not ranked very high at that time.

It was because of the fact that my life was in the pits that I was forced to learn NLP and accelerated learning techniques to turn my whole life around (out of sheer desperation). After applying what I had learnt, I topped my schools for the O levels with 8 points (L1R5) and made it into VJC where I scored straight As for A levels. I then went into NUS (business Admin) where I ranked among the top one percent of the cohort and was in the Deans List every year. Because of my meteoric rise from the bottom of the educational system to to the every top, I wrote my book ‘ I Am Gifted, So Are You! that became an instant best-seller as it told the inspiring story of how a stupid moron like me (from a neighbourhood school) could be one of the top students in NUS. I then started my ‘now famous’ training program inspiring both students and adults to succeed, which earned me my first million by age 26 and many more milions after that.

Here is my very important point that I always pondered on. IF I HAD NOT LIVED such a screwed up life at the beginning and did not have all that adversity, then I would NOT HAVE LEARNT NLP!!! If I did not learn NLP at age 13, then I would never have learnt all the powerful strategies that allowed me to become so super successful today! I would have grown up to be just another ordinary average person.

Indeed, it was a blessing in disguise. Also, imagine if I had done very well in Primary school and HAD NO learning and behavioural problems. then, I may have done very well for my PSLE , scored 4A stars and gone to Raffles Institution (RI).

If I had gone to RI, RJC and NUS, then I WOULD NOT HAVE THE INSPRING STORY of IDIOT TO GENIUS to tell! My story will no longer be sexy and I could not have written the book I AM GIFTED, SO ARE YOU! to inspire other lousy students like myself. Since I was good all the way, I could probably only write the book ‘ I AM GIFTED, SO TOO BAD TO YOU!!! So again, everything happens for a reason.

I also realized that the main reason why I am so good at motivating lousy students and under-achieving people is because I USED TO BE LIKE THAT. Therefore, I can understand and connect with lousy students and turn them around so well. If I had been a super studtent from Raffles Institution all the way, then I may not have the ability to help all these students the way I do today, since I cannot understand the problems they face and how they feel.

The lesson I want to share is this. Embrace your problems and adversities in life! They are there for a purpose. Use them to learn lessons and as opportunties that will help you to achieve all the success in your life. Some people may ask, ‘then why do some people keep facing problems after problems and go aroud in circles never ever succeeding?’

The answer is because they have not yet learnt the lesson they are supposed to from the adversity but are instead giving excuses, blamig, complaining and running away. I believe that as long as you don’t learn the lessons that your problems are there to teach, they will keep on coming until the day you do. The very tragic thing is that many people live throughout their lives and die never ever learning the lesson.

Adam-Khoo.com is back online…After Crashing from Massive Traffic and Generating Over US$9,000 in the Last 7 days

Hi Everyone! Adam-khoo.com is finally back online. The last 7 days were both exciitng and frustrating at the same time. For some reason, starting on July 12, exploding traffic came swarming into adam-khoo.com and my other site www.secretsofself-mademillionaires.com. The number of hits were so overwhelming that it exceeded the site’s bandwidth and crashed the whole site!

The great news is that I sold out all 200 copies of the ‘Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires’ Digital package at the crazy one time offer of US$47 in just 7 days. (for those of you who missed it, the price is back to US$97…still a great deal). That’s over US$9,000 of passive income. I figured that the sudden surge in traffic came because the offer was running out and people who were rushing in to buy caused the crash.

The strange thing is that over 80% of the orders came out of Asia from places like Sweden, Holland, Argentina, Denmark, Finland, Norway, USA…This is the beauty of Internet Marketing, your market is truly the world! The strange thing is that I did not advertise at all on any foreign sites. Where in the world did all these people come from? Not that I am complaining! I figured that one or two Ang Mohs probably stumbled across the site, bought the products and then blasted their recommendations to their thousands of affiliates and mailing lists. It was also very interesting reading the tons of business propoals for resell rights, jont ventures and invitations to speak from people all around the world.

However, credit must really go to my student and latest business partner Adam Wong (www.adam-wong.com). For those of you who do not yet know, Adam Wong is the person who has set up all my sites and marketed all my products. I do not do it myself. The Key to becoming a millionaire is to learn how to leverage of others and hence multiply your time.

Adam Wong is currently a full time student at SIM. When he attended my Patterns of Excellence Training and Wealth Academy Training (what impressed me was that he was willing to pay a couple of thousands to attend these seminars at such a young age), he was inspired about a topic I taught about how a person can create wealth even if he/she does not have a great idea or talent. There are many millionaires who made their millions on one great idea that was not even theirs!

Instead, they acquired the rights to the great ideas of other people and make millions scaling other people’s value. for exame, Ray Kroc (the father of McDonalds) DID NOT invent McDonalds restaurant or its famed burgers and fries. He acquired the worldwide rights from the McDonalds Brothers (who were great cooks but knew nothing about business) and built over 20,000 outlets in a few years, making himself a billionaire. The McDonalds brothers only got 2 million in pale comparison.

Bill Gates became the richest man in the world by licensing MS-DOS to IBM and IBM clone manufacturers back in the 1980s. Again, Gates DID NOT invent DOS. He bought the Operating system from Seattle Computer Products who did not know the value of it), modified it and licensed it for billions of dollars. All its investor sot was just $50,000.

Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Henson sold over 60 million copies of the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series (just imagine if they just made $2 per book) when all they did was to compile the thousands of stories contributed by other people. They again made millions by knowing how to scale other people’s value.

When Adam Wong learnt this powerful technique, he figured that he could make lots of money by acquiring the online rights for MY products and helping me to scale them. It was a win-win partnership. Instead of being satisfied with earning a couple of hundred dollars giving tuition (like what most full time undergrads do), he decided to use his ideas to make money instead of his time (One of the key principles of wealth). So, he actually had the courage to approach me and ask me for online rights to my products.

I decided to say yes as I felt his sincerity and commitment. Within less than a month, he got all 4 sites up and digitized all my products. Credit must also go to my partner and Internet Marketing Guru Stuart Tan (www.internetmarkeingsingapore.com) who coached Adam Wong to drive tons of traffic to the sites. Sure enough, within less than a month, this new Internet business that we built is generating thousands of US dollars in passive income from product sale and Google advertising revennue! I bet Adam Wong is earning more money now than some of his SIM lecturers. If you want to read up more about Adam Wong, go to www.adam-wong.com

My First ‘I Am Gifted’ Camp for Teens in Indonesia

I am finally back after a very challenging and exhilirating experience training 130 teenagers in Indonesia…It marks the launch of the ‘ I Am Gifted, So Are You!’ Program in Asia’s largest Muslim country of 200 million people. What was a headache though was that there was only ONE computer with Internet access in the entire hotel and it was on DIALUP. So I had over 400+ emails that piled up while I was gone and what was worst was that I had to monitor and trade on my stock portfolios by calling my partner Patrick in Singapore every couple of minutes in the late night. So the next time I go there, I am not going to leave any large leveraged positions in case the market suddenly turns the other way around.

Anyway, back to the training! Because of our premium pricing for our camps (6.5 million rupiah per student - equivalent to S$1300), we obviously only attracted children of the super duper duper rich in Indonesia. We had kids whse parents were government officals, tyccons, CEOS of MNCs and so on. Majority of them were from International schools or private schoools who spoke with an ang moh accent, so English was not a problem for most.

What was great about the kids there was there was hunger and willingness to learn all the life skills and accelerated learning technqiues that we were there to teach. To many of them, concepts like ‘NLP’, ‘Mind Mapping’ and ‘accelerated learning’ were very new and mind blowing as they do not have a chance to be exposed to all these concepts in their schools. Not like in Singapore, where kids go through so much enrichment training that they give you the ‘ I Know it all attitude’. It was becasue of their openess to learn and maturity that I was surprised that the mind maps they did and the test scores during the camp were of much better standard than those we get in Singapore. Again, it is not about talent or intelligence, but simply about hunger and willingess to learn.

To run our very first camp there, We had about 8 coaches from Singapore and 15 Indonesian coaches who did a great job in guiding and inspiring the teenagers. The greatest challenge was overcoming the mindsets of some of their parents who thought our training was too harsh with their kids. Most of these kids are from rich families and have never been exposed to a tough training. So, initially some parents freaked out when they learnt that our camp was like a miliatry boot camp. Teens had to wake up at 7.30am and sleep at 1am. There did up to 300+ push ups a day when rules were broken (more siong than SAF!) and had to run to touch a tree and come back when they were too slow.

At first, some of the kids got a huge culture shock, but I was very proud of them when on the last day they said that it was these physically and mentally tought activities that really stretched hthem out of their comfort zone and gave them a new level of confidence they never felt before. I kept giving them the motto ‘whatever does not kill you will make you stronger.’

Following the super succes of this first camp, we will be running more teen camps in Indonesia in December this year!

In fact, what worries me so much about the younger generation in Singapore is that altough they are intelligent, talented and with all the opportunities to succed, many are just too complacent. They are too comfotable and have lost their hunger for success. many are living in their happy little worlds, totally oblivious to the competition that is emerging from ’so called’ third world countries like China, India, Indonesia and so on.. When I go to these other countries, I see their drive to succeed. They are willing to pay the price and work hard to make it. I fear that if this carries on, our futrue will be doomed. How are our next generation going to compete with these super talented, hardworking people at half the price?

I have been getting resumes from PhDs in China wiling to come here to work for my companies at S$1500! There are brilliant IT engineers from India who score 98% for their National exams who are willing to come here and work for half the pay of most Singaporeans. This is why my teen programs in Singapore are now focused so much on building personal drive, resiliance and crafiting personal vision than just scoring As for exams.

US Market in Confirmed Rally

MARKET IN CONFIRMED RALLY

Last night (Thursday), All 3 indexes followed through on their rally attempt as stocks increased ON HIGH VOLUME (26% above the average).

The Nasdaq increased 3%, The S&P 500 increased 2.2% (its biggest one day gain since Oct 23) and the Dow gained 2%. This marks a FOLLOW THROUGH for the market on Day 12 of a rally try started June 14. This is a sign that PROFESSIONAL INVESTORS are back in BUYING HEAVILY. On IBD’s ‘The Big Picture’, market outlook is back to ‘Confirmed Rally’. If you look at the S&P 500 chart (3 month), you can see last night that the index broke through the resistance line it has been forming over the last few days on high volume. The reason is because the FED increased rates by 0.25% to 5.25% as expected, thus clearing the uncertainty that has built up. The FED also hinted that growth is moderate and rates will remain put for now.

So what does all this mean?
1) A follow through does not guarantee a bull run. There have been times in the past when after follow through, the market eventually went nowhere. Having said that, a major bull run has always been preceded by a follow though after a downturn.

2) This does not mean that stocks & the index will not go down. Remember that stocks go up and down ALL THE TIME. A confirmed rally merely says that the index will trend upwards (each high will be higher, and each low will be lower)

=> This is the time to get ready to BUY those top rated momentum stocks that are ready to break out from their bases that have formed over the last 2 months!

Here are some of the purchases I made recently for your reference.

1) JEL (value stock on SGX) at $0.23
- This is a core holding on wallstraits.com. Curtis is betting the whole ranch on this one counter. I held it before and sold it at a nice profit at $0.29. Now it is back to $0.23, so I picked it up again. My only concern is that although sales and profits are surging, profit margins have been decling. Usually this is a bad sign as it shows that competitive advantage is being eroded. However, I believe that it is short term and margins will grow healthily this year. However, because of this one uncertainty, I am only placing a small investment in this.

2) HTL (value stock on SGX) at ) $1.10
I added a few more HTL lots to my present portfolio as I think the price at this level is pretty attractive . Way undervalued. In fact, last quarter, sales, profits and cash flow increased very well. So, there is no reason for this stock to be so undervalued.

3) Bought only a few lots of S&P 500 CFD’s at 1262.50 last night because I did not expect the index to take off so fast. Only caught it when it was halfway through the rally. Will consider buying some more when prices eases more down to 1240-1250 range. Remember that prices will always take a breather when market shoots up to fast because of profit taking and short tem consolidation.
