    Hi Adam,

I understand that you have investments in the US market, I too, have considerable investments in US stocks, in fact, it accounts for more than half of my portfolio of investments. My question is – how do you feel about the falling dollar and do you think it has a significant impact on your investments? And also, have you done anything different in the way you invest to counter this decline?

    Thank you for your time

I think you should open a facebook account, as it a very good network marketing tool for free. Inside you can open a group to attract more members, where we can share knowledge among the member and learn from you too.

Hopes you have no offence to my suggestion, just wanted to see a great millionaire like you in facebook.

    Hi Adam,

I believe thousands had asked you to personally coach them in investments and strategies and what I am hoping is not to be in that thousands! Sincerely, hope you can be a personal mentor to teaching me how to invest in stocks correctly. I have read your books and I am also very into Buffet theories, but the bad point about me is that I am able to register all theories, but to apply technically it just never got through the way how you intelligently conveyed in your books. Please help me – can we communicate via email?

  25. GS Gill on June 25th, 2008

    Hi Adam,

I first had a chance to listen to your talk at Great Eastern building yesterday. 24-Jun.

I really admire the inspiration you can give for someone to focus on his goals. Its probably as relevant for personal life as for business.

However, I think there is a little assumption there on why businesses over 5 years fail, when you say they do not change strategy and innovate.

With the all-around innovation push from the government even, bosses of big/small companies are aware that change is necessary. But there are some issues really beyond control, depending on the nature of the business.

That is competition. How easily copycats can catch up. This can seriously bring down prices and thus profit margins. Eventually whether the business is still viable.

For your case, Adam, I think the book you wrote many years ago, I am gifted so are you, still remains pivotal in many of your current workshops. Even though you probably have fine-tuned the workshops over time, what really matters is that its difficult for someone else to publish something original of equal quality. Thats a huge barrier of entry to competition.

In the years of lack of quality competition locally, you have capitalised on time to groom good trainers. So much so that even if you do not change a single strategy today, your business will run easily for years. In other words, anyone can run your business profitably at this point for at least X years.

In a business where there is lack of competition & even an idiot can run it, is the best business, even legendary investor Warren Buffet is interested in. Adam, its time to go public. Many like minded people want a share in your venture. :)

  26. Adam Khoo on June 29th, 2008

    Hi GS Gill

Thank you for your kind compliments and your confidence in my abilities. The truth is that I have and will always continue to innovate and make my programs better and better. In fact the workshop I run for kids next year will be much better than the one I run today

There have been many competitors who have tried very hard to copy me over the years. The reason they have failed is because I have kept one step ahead of them. The reason a business fails is because their product/strategy is not innovatively unique or different. Sameness kills!

    Hi Mr Khoo..

I’m currently a sec4 student from Geylang Methodist School(Secondary). I had attended the ” I am gifted, so are you” workshop in january at my school. It was only a 1-day workshop for my cohort then. The workshop was great though, and the trainer, Leroy, was fantastic as well.

But i do really want to know more about academic skills, especially my o level’s is approaching. And my results are kind of dropping slightly.

Also, i have read one of your books, the “Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires”, and a book written by Robert T. Kiyosaki, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”.It’s not that i’m money-faced or anything, it’s just that i want to fulfil some of my dreams within this 5 years. So is there anything that i can do to increase my income, other than an online business, even if i have a part-time job after sec4 graduation?

    Thanks for the time.

    Hi Adam,
I’m a mother of two incredible boys. My elder is a great “gifted” one, according to his IQ score n shows many amazing, deep, but “unusual” way of thinking. He’s just fine at school, but never want to show his best. I found it as underachiement, because in some occasions he can show his great skill in music and sports. I try to find a way to help him out to be more “be in his shoes” so he may be more confident in expressing himself. How I should manage him as a “friendly mother”, so he won’t feel that I push him to much. Thank you. Hope can get your answer soon.

One thing that all young people (especially intelligent ones) hate is to be told what to do. When we appear to be nagging or lecturing, the opposite reaction tends to happen. By agreeing with us, they are admitting that we are smarter than they are.

The key is to introduce role models (in a very indirect way) and keep encouraging and praising them when they put in their very best. Young people get inspired by role models.

I happen to work for a frugal self made millionaire whom is a classic example on how they behave and invest their money. Your book desribes them exactly just that! If he can do it, so can I, maybe better, because I have your books.

One thing that puzzled me is that you omitted investment strategy on property in your book (Self Made Millionaire). You smell the subprime crisis back in 2006 or? Anyway, I hope you could write a book for Singaporeans wanting to buy their first flat or property, you should warn them about the loan and interest and replayment period. These factors cripple their ability of using their CPF funds to invest for better returns. Done correctly the purchase of brand new 3 and 4 room flats could rake in over 100K for Singaporeans.

Eager to read more of your books soon.

Im currently pursuing a commerce degree at university.I have not been performing well academically. The thing about me is that i am motivated one moment and excel in the things i do. But the next minute,i lose that motivation and momentum and therefore tend to give up things easily. Most of the time, i start a particular academic subject/ activity with a bang but half way i lose that momentum, and give up very easily

I would like to know how do i sustain and maintain that high energy and momentum from the time from the time i start learning about a new subject/activity, striving to get quality (distinction) grades in my academic work.

    Hey Mr. Khoo
    I am from Kolkata, India.
I do not know your e-mail. I recently read a blog post of yours on an Indian Actors Blog. his name is Amitabh Bachchan. it was about ur perspective of money and how one should value it. i completely liked the way u replied to the person who was rather shocked to see u in economy class, because that was the reason ur still a millionaire. please dont mind me using short text for writing this reply because i consider you quite young and a perfect role-model for me.
i also read that u too were sort of weak at ur studies but then u made it with some determination and stuff.
i really wanna do the same.
    but i dont know how?
i was good at my studies before the 8th grade which was when i started getting bad results. in the 10th grade, i had to give a huge board exam which is quite necessary for getting into good colleges, i thankfully scored an 84% in that. but i dont want just that much in my 12th level, because the results of my 12th level board exam will decide where ill be going for college.
my primary aim is to go for NUS, SMU, SIM in singapore. i dont want to join some college with my father’s money paid as donations so that i can get in some good college. My father’s a respectable man in the city and he’s got good sources. but he’s also teaching me that consider that ur father doesnt have good sources in good colleges. that means i will hav to score good. i dont wanna be content with just an 85% in my 12th level board exam too mr. adam.
    please please help.
i am truly inspired by you. and i would love to attend one of ur “i am gifted camps”. but im in India.
anytime you come to India, please make it announced in your blog or somewhere so that i can know and ill be really obliged to meet you. thank you sir. i know this is asking for a lot, but i hope u heed to my request.

  49. Vanessa on November 11th, 2008

    Hi Mr. Khoo.
I am situated in Jakarta, Indonesia, and I am 13 years old in an international school. I have read three of your books: “I am Gifted, So Are You,” “Master Your Mind, Master Your Destiny,” and “Nurturing the Winner and Genius In Your Child.” (<- A little early for me to read, don’t you think? Ha ha.) In school, many of my peers and friends think that I am a ‘genius’ and a ‘child prodigy’ because I always end up scoring high on tests, and everything else. To be honest, I don’t really work or put much effort into my classwork… and I still turn out fine. Even after reading those three books, I find that I have a large lack of motivation that holds back my full potential to succeed. As I did very well in my last school year as well (only one B), I feel the expectations of my friends and parents weighing down on me. I am afraid to let them down, but I don’t think I can keep this up much longer. My grades are already slipping slightly, so my parents tell me. I am one year before high school (secondary 3) and I’m feeling pressured to do better because it is my goal to make it into a great university where I can further my education. In my current predicament, I am starting to really doubt myself; also as a person. I am feeling really lost right now. This seems irrelevant, but I also planned to begin running so I can get fitter. I am also unable to follow and stick to a goal I set for myself. What should I do?

  50. ishita on November 22nd, 2008

    Hi Adam,
Was quite impressed after reading your blogs. Some of your views are quite thought provoking, but at the same time it actually confuses me.I have some quetions for you and it would be helpful if you can answer them.
Q No.1.Is it right for one to not spend much on stuffs which gives us momentary pleasures, say for instance a branded watch or a branded car, considering the fact the happiness wont last for long?
Q No.2.In your process of becoming a millionaire, did you ever intended to help some body really in need beyond your means? And if some body does at all,is it good or bad according to you?

I will be waiting eagerly for your reply.

  51. Adam Khoo on November 22nd, 2008

There is nothing wrong in spending money to enjoy yourself. The only thing is to spend much less than you earn and to understand that your main joy in life should come from things that money cannot buy i.e. helping people, connecting with your family, having passion in your chosen career.

  52. jian hui on November 23rd, 2008

I would like to learn from you, to learn how to create similar results and help people of various groups. Besides, are there any other ways in which I can learn more about NLP in Singapore?
I hope to hear from you soon and are there other ways to contact you directly eg. via e-mail.

  53. James on November 27th, 2008

Hi Adam, I have enjoyed your seminar. Just few questions:
    1. Is it safe to buy DBS shares now at below $10 and do cost averaging if it goes down further?
    2. Do you have the historical charts of STI ETF for the last 5 or 7 years or when ETF is available?
    3. I am a conservative investor. If I have 3-4m to invest and want steady, passive income for my retirement, is it okay to buy properties for rental income? Should I pay all by cash? When is a good time to buy? You did not cover property investment in your seminar, I noticed.
    Thanks

All I can say is a big WOW! WOW! WOW!

    I’m turning 26 already next year. I might be a peso-millionaire but not a dollar-millionaire.

You are very inspiring man! I salute young self-made millionaires! I hope I can mimic your success in some way or another.

    Hi Solomon
    How can I help?

  68. Julie on January 10th, 2009

Hi Adam, I searched all over your website for an email address to write to you but it seems this is the only means. Nevermind if the whole world sees this, it’s only meant for you anyway. Adam, both my sons have attended your programs in Secondary and Primary school and have benefitted greatly from them. I like your ideas, probably because I too have similar and firm beliefs – like affirmation, hugs, communication etc, being a certified Infant Massage Instructor and Massage in Schools Program Instructor myself. While I am still constantly learning from the experts, I also train and motivate my teams in one of the oldest and strongest Network Marketing company. Speaking of Network Marketing, according to my son in Secondary school, he says that your trainer told them it’s not the business to be in!! I sure had some explaining to do that evening!! Anyway, my reason in writing to you is to express a keen interest in joining your team of trainers. With a positive attitude and mindset and the training I’m sure you will provide, I’m certain I will be able to contribute to your team of dynamic and excited trainers. My experience includes 10 years of Insurance sales and marketing with one of the top Insurers in the world. It is because I know you believe in opportunities and being brave to go out and grab them that I am writing to you!

    Hi Adam!

I have read your book “Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires” and am very impressed by the techniques that you teach. However, I have one question regarding drop shipping. If it is really so easy and require so little capital, then why isn’t it a perfectly competitive market already and thus eroding all profits? Are there many drop-shippers in Singapore?

  71. Hello on January 15th, 2009

  72. Adam Khoo on January 15th, 2009

Read and listen to whatever interests you first! You do not have to go into any specific order

  73. Dr Abhijit Das on January 17th, 2009

Dear Adam, I think you are brilliant and of course focused. I have a question to ask you. This is because I am going through the entire book of yours…’secrets of a self…’ I am doing the entire book with all the exercises. I believe that I have enough talent to become a millionaire. I have done a lot of training… communication skill, behaviour and body language is my forte. I completely accept the fact that if you can delegate routine work to someone that frees you from menial ‘jobs’ so that you can focus on training much more. My question is simple, how can you get more training programmes? I have tried to increase the amount of training programmes i do but I have not been able to do more than 1 or 2 per month. I would definitely get someone to do smaller jobs if I could increase my training. If I am looking at a website or other marketing techniques, I have to spend an amount which at present I cannot afford. I am not really sure what is happening? I have got fantastic feedback from the delegates who have attended my programmes. Please help.
PS (I want you to check out my brief resume and you will know why I have this question)

    Regards
    A great fan
    Abhijit

    Hi Adam Khoo,
Is there such thing as a born loser?
What happen if your mother did not send you to the inspirational training camp at your childhood?
Would things be different? Would you still discover your potential or find your way to success? or still remain fearful of studies and unmotivated in life.

Could things had been different for you? Is it your own choice to be successful or attending the inspirational camp that changed you?

  98. Nur Sabrena on July 6th, 2009

    Dear Adam,

My name is Nur Sabrena and I am the younger sister of Fareez Keegan, one of you former students who attended your recent ‘I am Gifted, So Are You!’ Senior Camp this year. I am very happy and pleased that he enjoyed the camp; it seemed like so much fun. However, I did not get to attend your Junior Camp.

Not to forget the most important part, my brother also passed on his knowledge that he learned from you. I find your classes all very interesting, so my parents have decided to send me for the Senior Camp when I’m in Secondary One, which is in two more years. I am very excited and I cannot wait!

When I attended your talk previously, I learned a lot from your wise words. When I am reading your books, the part which I like the most is when you tell stories which have moral values in it. During the last session of my brother’s Senior Camp, there were books on sale. My mother allowed me to buy one of Teo Aik Cher’s books about achieving success, while my she bought a book written by Gary Lee and yourself, the amazing Adam Khoo. Even before I finished reading Teo Aik Cher’s book, I had already started on your book as I was attracted to its content when I read the summary at the back, even thought I knew that it was meant for parents!

On top of that, I sincerely hope that you would take me in as one of your junior coaches, even though I have not attended any of your camps so far. My parents have been wishing for this day to come where I would be standing there on the stage, knowing that I have gained something new from my experiences. I think that it would be a fruitful and wonderful experience for me to be an assistant coach! Please do think about it.

I look forward to hearing from you!
    Please write back,
    Nur Sabrena.

To be motivated to study, you must set a very exciting goal for yourself. As study towards that goal. Which university do you want to enter? What life do you want to have in the future? How much money do you want to earn? What house do you want to own? What career do you want to have?

To get along with your parents, see things from their point of view. So things without being told. Say thank you and please

    Hello Adam

I was unaware of your existence until today, thanks to an e-mail from my friend I came to know of you. The article which my friend mailed was of frugality of millionaires. Being a practical thinker I am impressed with your realistic insight.

I googled you and read your article “The Expats will rule Singapore”. Its very true that when you give all the necessities of life for granted and that too on a luxurious scale, the driving force to acheive the same, to fight for it is taken away. The descendants of the same fighters are now lethargic and unmotivated.

The phenomenon you speak of is prevasive here in India as well. People demand something which they have not earned yet. They have forgotten that to ask for something they need to deserve it. Such people measure success not in terms of quality of work but by the purchasing power.

I would like to attend your seminar someday. And, if u can please do conduct a seminar in India as well.

    Hello Adam,
Currently, i am working on a report which requires me to interview a successful entrepreneur. So is it ok if i do a interview with you over here ?

What do you think are the necessary elements for a business venture to succeed ?

What are the three important lessons that you learn about business and entrepreneurship so far ?

    1. About your “CONGRATULATIONS” letter. The letter said that I have to finish all the stuff in 36 hours. But, I’m not at home yet, till 2010. I have already opened the letter. What should I do?

    2. I want to be a coach in IAGJ 2010. Is there any revision for the audition?

    3. Do you open your Facebook? Because it’s easier for me to ask you via Facebook

    Thanks, adam. Reply please.

    Hi Adam

How to instill hunger in a person ? How to make him want to work extra mile ? I have read many self help books and have knowledges a plenty but I seem can’t be able to apply what I have read into real life. In real life ,I am always affected by external events , people and all what I have read will be throw out of my mind once I met real life events. My life is in a big mess and I can’t seem able to overturn my life into positive.I am in debt , divorce ( cheated by my China wife)and approaching 50 years old.I am always more depress than happy and more negative than positive and hopeless in dealing with people.
Can you suggests ways so that I can help myself ?

    Regards

  141. Adam Khoo on December 27th, 2009

Peter, the reason you are experiencing difficulty in controlling and directing your thoughts, emotions and behaviours is because over the years, you may have been conditioned (i.e. programmed) with negative neurological patterns of depression, hopelessness and negativity. All this programming has been a result of negative input from others and your own negative self talk. The good news is that the past does not determine the future. No matter how bad the past has been, today, this moment is a new opportunity to redesign the destiny and future you want. Every recession will end. All bad times will end. It is really up to you whether you want to stay at the trough or to build new resources of thinking and strategies to ride your own recovery and boom. My suggestion is that you commit to attend a life changing programme like the Patterns of Excellence (I don’t mean to sound like a salesman, but I truly have seen how this program has created breakthroughs for people from all ages and walks of life) where you will learn tools like NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) that will show you how to take charge of your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and life and to make your future the way you want

  143. Adam Khoo on December 29th, 2009

Hi Adam, I have a young boy 8 years old, who does like to study nor do his school home work, basically he is a intelligent boy… but lazy… I just dont know what to do. I wanted to send him to your course, but I can afford it… as I have financial problem… i sincerely hope that some one could help. Millions thanks in advance

  146. Joanne on January 2nd, 2010

sorry it should dont like to study nor do his school work… how could I motivate him… I am very stress out… as I am struggler on my daily need on top of take of him… you respond, is deeply appreciate. thanks

  147. Adam Khoo on January 2nd, 2010

Many children are facing the same problem as your child. Intelligent, lots of potential but ‘lazy to study’ There are a few reasons that contribute to this. 1) He has no role models to inspire him to want to become successful, 2) He has no clear goals for the future so there is no purpose to study, 3) He finds studying boring or difficult because he is not learning in a fun way or 4) he lacks the self confidence and belief that he can do well, so after a while, he gives up ‘trying’. You have to talk to him and diagnose the problem and work with him to find the necessary solutions to the causes I have stated. best of luck

  148. Joanne on January 2nd, 2010

Thanks Mr. Khoo, u are right, he has no role model because he is the only child, he face me- a 50 old lady single mother, everyday strugler to find money to pay housing installment… and he find study is boring/difficult, simple Question, he will just I dont know, and refuse to think. School teacher complaint.. he has no confident either, he keep on saying I can’t even before start, worse he does not listen to what I said… 6 weeks school holiday i had been screming at him.. Happy 2010 Adam! Greetings from Vancouver.
I’ve read and enjoyed both your books “Secrets of Millionaire Investors” and “Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires.” I have a goal in place and I’m going to make it happen.
I’m just starting out, and so I’d love to be able to talk to someone who has already attained financial freedom. Do you have any contacts in my area who’d be willing to mentor a fellow just starting his journey? or are there any investment clubs in my area that follow your investment strategies?
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Cheers,
    Alex

  157. yivian on February 6th, 2010

    Hey Adam,
I was,a 14-year-old student, just like everyone out there day dreaming and with many bad habits. With all my bad habits and I mixed around with those playful friends, I dropped from the first class to the average class. This made me feel so bad and I’m disappointed to myself until I hate myself so much.In a week time,i didn’t feel bad at all and i started to plan for my study during the 7 weeks school holiday. But at last,I end up sitting in front of the computer playing video games. My attitude doesn’t change at all.
But a week before the school re-opens,i found your book ‘The Secrets of Successful Teens’ in the Best Recommended in the Popular Bookstore. The title interested me and something so lucky for me was my mom knew you.My mom said, Adam Khoo is a great motivater and she always saw some articles of yours in The Star newspaper. So i grab a copy and i finished the whole book in 3 days.(I’ve broke my record.Haha.)From that moment, you inspired me a lot and i’ve set you as my role model. I’m so glad that i’ve bought your book and this really helps me lots.I’ve change my attitude in my studies and i used the method you teach and yet i’ve archieve 1 of my goals that is to pay attention in class. Then I’ve read I Am Gifted, So Are You! and i become highly motivated.I’ve change a lot since I read ‘Secrets of Successful Teens’2 months ago.You really inspired my lots and I’m going to set my goal to enter NUS for a double degree in Business and Communication or a degree in medicine. My dream since i was a small girl is to help as many people as i can.

Looking forward to hearing for you,
    yivian.

Oh, i’ve gave my idea to used ‘Master Your Mind,Design Your Destiny’ as our class slogan and my classmates agreed with me.Sorry for using your book title.

    best regards.

  158. Adam on February 7th, 2010

Hi Yivian. I’m really happy to hear how my books have helped you positively change your life. I believe you can definitely achieve the bog goals you have set for yourself.
